Zaya is a lively and affectionate rescue dog who appears to be an Australian Shepherd mix, weighs 43 pounds, and is about 4 years old. She is a happy dog who loves to run and play. She is very energetic, bouncy, and always up for a game of zoomies. She is also very food motivated and enjoys learning new things. Zaya's sweet personality and affectionate nature make her a joy. She is always happy and eager to please, making her an excellent training candidate. Although she does not seem to know any commands other than Sit yet, she is very smart and would likely learn quickly. Zaya is comfortable on a leash but can be a little goofy and wrap the leash around your legs. She is also crate trained and generally quiet and well-behaved once inside. She enjoys chewing on toys and nylabones while in her crate. Zaya loves to play and would do well in a home with a fenced yard. She would also enjoy being with someone who is active and likes to run or hike. However, she is bouncy and likes to jump around, so a home with very small children may not be the best fit. Zaya has met and gotten along well with other dogs, and was curious but polite to cats she met briefly. Currently being treated for heartworms, Zaya will be on 6 weeks of restricted activity starting on March 8th. She is a happy and loving dog who deserves a forever home with someone who will appreciate her bubbly personality and give her plenty of love and attention.
