About Barney

Meet Barney! If Barney looks terrified and possibly confused in pictures, unfortunately it is because that is how he is feeling at the moment. He just hasn't realized yet what a good turn his life has taken, and he is hoping to catch the eye of some kind, patient people willing to show him all the world has in store for him. Barney is an approx 14 mth old red and white mini golden doodle. He is around 30 lbs. Barney came to us from a commercial breeder and was given up to rescue when he failed to sell. Despite his obvious confusion Barney has not shown any negative reaction to anything. He mostly will try to avoid people and the leash. Once leashed he will allow you to handle him, and even pick him up. He was a very good boy for his grooming, despite his fear. Barney will definitely need a patient home. People willing to encourage him to come out of his shell and provide consistency and positive reinforcement, without pushing him too fast. He clearly has not been taught how to dog yet. He will be a bit of a project - but the kind that will reward you back in spades. He will be your most loyal friend ever, once he is given that time. Barney could be placed with another dog, or as an only dog. If he does go home with another dog they should be outgoing to model some of that behavior for him. Interested?
