About DOLLY

Adoption Fee: $450
Pekingese / Shih Tzu
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Dolly, she is a brown, black & white 1 yr old Pekingese Shih Tzu approximately 13lbs. General behavior: Dolly is super sweet and loving, however she is very skiddish. She walks really well on a leash, especially with another dog in front of her so she can follow along. Dolly enjoys cuddling up with the other animals in her foster's home (large dog and 2 cats), on the couch or on the bed. She also enjoys sleeping at the feet of her foster mom when she's working. Dolly rarely barks, however she will bark in the morning when it's time to come out of her crate. She does really well in the crate at night. She goes into the crate on her own for bedtime however she does not do well in the crate during the day while no one is home. Likes & dislikes: Dolly loves her treats (since she's still being potty trained) and loves cuddling on the couch with her foster mom. Enjoys walks, and playing with her foster big sister (dog), and the cats. She dislikes loud noises, and when on walks she tends to be very afraid of other people. She also does not really enjoy riding in the car (foster takes her out during the day for tea with her), and once she is there she is very well behaved and sleeps the entire time. Training: Dolly still isn't fully house trained, however she continues making great progress and does really well with treats and positive reinforcement. She sleeps in her crate all night with the door closed, going into the crate on her own when she knows bedtime for the family is near. Medical: Dolly will only need her yearly vaccines, monthly preventative heartworm and flea prevention medicine - like any other dog. Other animals: Dolly is dog and cat friendly and would do really well in a home with another dog which is a requirement. She enjoys curling up next to her dog sister during naps in her foster home. Children: Dolly does really well with children, however due to the amount of consistent attention she needs in reinforcing potty training, Dolly will need to go to a home with older children. Home: Dolly would do best in a home with a fenced in secure yard. Due to her small size, she must always be supervised when outside, even within a fenced yard. A home where someone works from home is a must, since she needs to 'go potty' frequently while being house trained. On the weekends she cannot be left alone for more than 2 hours otherwise she will have an accident. Everyone in the home must be trained on not letting her out the front door as he likes to run out. Grooming: Dolly needs regular monthly grooming as the fur around her paws and ears gets long. Overall: Dolly is a very sweet girl and deserves a committed adopter with a lot of time and patience that will give her a loving home. If you meet the requirements and have read her entire Bio please apply online for consideration of adoption. We will only contact those applicants we feel are a good match.
