Aikah is currently 6.5 years old, and current on all vaccinations. More information about him, Aikah is truly an amazing, loving, dog. He knows how to sit, stay, laydown, and 'down'. He loves toys so much, will gather them all and lay on them, his favorite activity is playing in the sprinkler. And he also loves vegetables as treats. He's very active and loves to walk and play fetch. Aikah however has anxiety. When he was a little over 1 he was attacked by two pitbulls. We were walking and two ran up on us. I let go of the leash and he ran away, however the leash got stuck on a car tire and it pinned him. Fortunately a neighboor was outside and jumped in to break it up, but since then aikah is extremely nervous around people/animals he does not know. He is amazing once he is comfortable, and has never shown 'aggression' but does bark and pace nervously. We have done three rounds of training with him, but it obviously has not helped the anxiety piece on a daily basis with 'new' things. We have also had some life changes in the last two years that have really caused aikah's anxiety to worsen. 1, our Siberian husky passed away at 13 years old that has been around his whole life, which I feel really impacted his day to day; and we are not at a place in our lives to get a second dog. And 2, we had our first child. Upon having our first child, obviously our life has changed, which I feel tremendous guilt over, and changing aikahs schedule has been hard on him. Aikah really needs someone who understands his breed, and who can be his 'people'. Right now he fights for attention between us and our son (not aggressively, but will pace constantly and try and get between us) which makes me nervous. I want him to be loved and feel fulfilled, but I truly think he needs attention and a family life we cannot give him right now.
