About Mike Wazowski

Adoption Fee: $325
American Staffordshire Terrier / Pointer
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

(DOB 12/23/2022). Due to Mike Wazowski's (yes, straight from Monsters Inc.) young age, he has not yet been neutered. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC). If you're looking for a little goofball of a puppy, Mikey is definitely your man! Mikey, runs funny, trips, rolls around, and is a cute kind of clumsy. He's the only fluffy puppy from his litter, and he doesn't look a thing like his mom or littermates, so he's even odd to them! His fluffy fur is silky soft. You will just 'fall' in love with his silly self immediately! Mikey is ALWAYS happy, go-lucky and has a fun, sweet, silly personality. His mom and siblings all have a similar sweet temperament. Mikey is always happy to see people! He will give you the best greetings! When Mikey gets excited, he has a goofy little pant that sounds like a child's mischievous laugh. He's a bit of a low-rider and waddles around with his stubby little legs and pot belly. Mikey will keep you entertained for hours! He's already learning to be lazy - he will sprawl on the floor in front of the food dish and eat lying down! If none of this is unique enough, one of poor Mikey's eyes has been damaged since birth, he has an imperfect eye. Personally, it makes him even more adorable, it makes his sweet face just that much cuter! So Mikey is expected to have only one eye, just like his namesake, Mike Wazowski of Monsters, Inc. He will have whatever medical care the vet recommends; our rescue will pay for his medical care. Having a full name for him has come in handy - you can address him by his full name when he's causing trouble! Mikey is a male mixed breed puppy. His mom a pittie mix, but he certainly doesn't look anything like a Pittie! He currently has a body shape like a Peekapoo, so he may be mixed with Pekingese or Poodle, but it's difficult to say. Mikey is a bit of a mystery bag! You be the judge! Mikey and his littermates are very smart. They learned right away to sit on command for a treat, and are doing very well with other training. Mikey, in particular, has learned very easily to stay calm to receive his treat, and to take his treat nicely. Mikey and his siblings have been learning bite inhibition, and are doing well with not biting very much, or very hard, but they do still bite sometimes. They are still puppies, and puppies have sharp teeth and can be a bit nippy. For this reason, children that are 8+ years old are better suited as we wouldn't want his sharp little teeth grabbing a little ones fingers and toes. Mikey was around children for a few days and did well with them. Mikey loves to play with toys - any toy! Squeakers, plushies, chew toys - Mikey loves them all. He enjoys playing tug with his siblings, but he really wants to play tug with you! Puppies love to chew, so Mikey will need a big supply of fun puppy toys. Mikey should also have a least one fun, playful, sweet pup in his new home to to teach him the ropes, help get his puppy energy out and build his confidence. He has access to a crate and sometimes sleeps there, but he has not yet been officially crate trained. He would love for you to pick him up and hold him, but he does get excited at first, and will wiggle around and nip a bit. He settles quickly and then loves to be pet. He has not yet met other dogs, or kitties, but he's so happy and excited about everything, so he should adjust easily. Little Mikey, like all of his siblings, will be fairly easy to house train. They all do the same little 'song & dance' when they have to poop, so it will be easy to recognize when they need to go out. Mikey is not yet house trained, but he has done well with learning to use a pee pad. He is very bright, and treat motivated, so he should be easy to house train. Mikey's mom is about 50 lbs, so we would normally expect Mikey to be between 50 and 60 lbs. Since Mikey is smaller than his siblings and built very differently, he may end up being much shorter and smaller than a 50 lb dog. As part of Mike Wazowski's $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.
