Lloyd, our best buddy, is a 3 %BD year old pit mix. He has been a part of our family since September 2019 when a neighbor found him wandering around our subdivision in Fayetteville, NC. He was a small puppy at the time and we took him in so that he didn't have to go to the pound and he has been with us ever since. We are a military family and have an unforeseen move to Japan coming up, so we are looking for a loving home for Lloyd because we cannot take him with us. Lloyd has been living with us in a single-family house with a fenced in backyard and he will do best with some form of fenced in yard. We don't let him off leash because he WILL run (chasing squirrels), but with some attention he is good on a leash. We have been working with a trainer on his tugging while being walked with some improvement. We have 2 kids ages 8 (boy) and 5 (girl) who he has been with his whole life. He does well with the kids and is not aggressive even when they are loud and crazy. He's a couch potato most of the day and a snuggler at night, but he does love being let out in the yard to chase squirrels. He does tend to get aggressive with other dogs and will do best in a house where he is the only dog. He has been to the dog park before without incident, but I don't take him there anymore because he gets vocal when playing (like most pitty's do) and I didn't want to push the issue with the other dog owners there. Our top priority is finding a great fit for Lloyd where he will be taken care of by a loving family who has some experience with Pitty's or other large dogs. Our ideal situation would be a long-term foster for the 3 to 3 %BD years we will be in Japan and then we take him back when we return, but I understand that is asking a lot and we are open to a re-homing arrangement. First and foremost, we want to ensure the loving home for Lloyd. Lloyd's stats: Age: 3/12. Breed: Pit bull mix Weight: 65 LBS Medical: up to date on all shots, vaccines. No outstanding medical conditions. Does have seasonal allergies in the pollen of the North Carolina spring. Food: Iams large breed Iams with some chicken stock poured over it. Companion with other animals: Cats- unknown, Dogs-Does tend to get aggressive with other dogs and will probably be best suited in a house where he is the only dog.
