About Tater

This little guy is Tater. He is 2 years old and weighs 14 pounds. Tater is a mix of Tibetan Spaniel, Dachshund, Shih Tzu and Chihuahua. Tater does great with other dogs his size and likes to play. He needs another dog in his home to play with and learn from. Tater loves to play tug of war and keep away with his toys. His favorite toys are the crinkly ones with no squeakers. Tater came into rescue as an owner surrender. His family had a house fire and surrendered 36 dogs. Tater had never had a collar on and had never left his home before, so the world was all new to him. He has learned a lot at his foster home. Now he knows how to walk on a leash and play. Tater requires a physically fenced yard so he can safely run and play. He loves to sit outside and watch the neighborhood. Tater also loves running through his yard and comes back to his foster parents when they call him. Tater is food motivated and willing to learn new things, but he is a scared little guy and will require a patient family. Tater likes to be near his people. He is learning the joys of snuggles. He comes for attention and gives kisses but is still unsure. Tater sleeps in the room with his foster parents but doesn't sleep in bed with them unless there is a storm, he is more scared of storms than humans. Tater is housetrained but may have an accident as he learns a new environment. He would enjoy a home where people are around most of the time. Tater is not used to being in a kennel and is left loose in his foster home when his fosters are not home. Tater is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.
