About Marshall

After months of healing... MARSHALL IS FINALLY READY TO FIND HIS FOREVER HOME!!! For those of you who don't remember Marshall came in as a severe neglect case. He was so sick. He was under weight, had two types of mange, 2 types of skin infections, nails grown out to the point where walking was painful, and little to no fur. He would scream in pain when we touched him. He was one of my saddest cases yet. Well it's been 5 months and let me show you this transformation!! This sweet man is a 4 year old pittie Shepherd mix with the sweetest disposition. He is about 70lbs now. He is still very shy but has come a long way at his foster Bridget's. Whoever adopts him needs to understand that he has been through a lot and it is going to take him time to become comfortable. They need to be patient with him. He is a sweet loving boy who loves People and kids but will take time to warm up to a new environment. It took us months for him to not be scared of us and to really get comfortable in his home. He would love a home with older calmer kids or teenagers. He likes dogs but they also need to Be on the calmer side and will give him space to let him adjust. He does play with his 4 legged buddies in foster care, but it took a lot of time and separation for him to be comfortable enough to interact. Slow and steady wins the race with this big boy. He loves belly rubs and snuggling and even knows basic commands. He is potty and leash trained and is the goodest boy! He we do believe he has slight allergies to the environment. He will probably need allergy medication in the spring and fall. We have him on a special prescription diet right now as his immune system is still weak, we don't want to push it with food trials. When his allergies flare his skin tends to relapse but we have seen in severe mange cases that this can happen. Over time we expect the flares to stop and we believe he can be put on less expensive food. Due to the fact that Marshall was overly crated as a baby his legs are permanently slightly bowed. This may cause arthritis as he ages but he is 100% now and doing great. The mange is gone and he is expected to live a long healthy life!
