For a sweet video of Tootsie, please visit: https://youtu.be/YvdLUBQLRc0 Name: Tootsie Age: born late December 2022 Breed: Possible hound mix, currently 12 pounds, will most likely be a medium sized dog when fully grown Sex: Female, not spayed Location: Pulaski County, Arkansas VET INFORMATION: Tootsie was pulled from a shelter by a local veterinarian's office who works closely with the shelter. They took her in when she came in on 1/12/23 in terrible shape. She is currently in foster care with one of the vet office employees. After a few days it became apparent that Tootsie was not visual. The vet office took her to an ophthalmologist on 1/23 and were told she was blind and had glaucoma. They have been treating her, and at her recheck on 2/23, they found out that she has regained vision in her right eye. At this time the ophthalmologist wanted to recheck her in three months. They are still treating her eyes at this time. Her only other health concern is some deformity in her rear legs. The vets at the clinic think she will have fine mobility as she is VERY active! They are hoping to find a rescue to pull her that will set her up for success and find her the best home or a home experienced with dogs like Tootsie. The vet office tells us that Tootsie has had the age appropriate vaccines and deworming. She is not microchipped or spayed yet, and she is too young for a heartworm test. FOSTER INFORMATION: At her foster home, Tootsie is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is not yet housebroken or leash trained due to her very young age. Tootsie is an outgoing girl who can be shy at times. She's good with men and women, and male and female dogs. Tootsie is being fostered around several large dogs and loves them! She is not possessive with treats, toys, or food. She's never shown aggression to a person or another animal, and she has no bite history. Tootsie is a happy, active, little pup. Does anyone have room for sweet Tootsie? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
