Herbie is an 11 month old male Great Dane�%A0puppy. Sadly he found himself at the shelter as a stray. He was emaciated and dirty, and in desperate need of love, attention and lots of healthy food. Now, nearly 30 pounds healthier and surrounded by affection, Herbie is an absolute bundle of love, snuggles, kisses and dynamite energy! Herbie loves everyone he meets. He loves his squeaky toys and playing outside with all of his 3 foster Danes, Basset Hound and Weiner dog siblings! While Herbie does live with small�%A0dogs, he does forget his size and needs supervision when playing with them. NO feeble or delicate dogs. Did we mention Herbie is full of energy and wants to play, learn and love.�%A0 He wants to please everyone holding a treat and has worked hard on Sit and Down while in his foster home. He's very smart! Herbie is curious about anything and everything and likes to chew, so toys and chewing treats are a must for this growing boy!�%A0 Herbie loves his kennel and sleeps there overnight as well as occasionally napping in it when there's no more room on the sofa with his 3 dane siblings. �%A0He can't be trusted just yet to be left out on his own, so his kennel is a comfy spot when his family isn't home. Herbie is housebroken but will need to be kept on a schedule for a bit longer to be confident in his abilities. However, he understands that when that back door opens and he hears 'let's go pee pee', he knows exactly what to do!�%A0 He's a quick learner and is typical puppy goofy with no awareness of his size- For that reason no children under 8 years old unless they currently live with a giant breed dog. �%A0 Herbie walks great on a leash and loves to stop every 3 feet to sniff, investigate and sniff again while on walks. He only slightly pulls when he smells something ahead that definitely needs to be investigated.�%A0�%A0He occasionally jumps up when extremely excited but has been doing so much better with that lately. Herbie is a very alert and aware puppy and lets you know with his deep bark if something is going on that needs to be checked out. It's probably those huge ears he has going on! He's absolutely adorable and would love to have a furever family of his own, especially one with a large playmate! Herbie is UTD on vaccines and preventatives. He is currently a foster home in Johnson City TN. We adopt NATIONWIDE but require adopters to travel to the foster home with their current dog/dogs (to ensure they will be friends) to pick up.
