About Apollo

Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Apollo! Apollo was born on January 11, 2019, so at 4-year-old, 100-pound yellow lab, his father an English Lab (125lbs), and his mother a Ukrainian Lab. Apollo loves to ride, enjoys swimming, not good going on walks because he lacks leash training and strong. He hasn't had any formal obedience training and would benefit with a family that can dedicate funds towards formal training. He is used to being around kids, but he is so strong that he is best in an all Adult only household. He has tried to play with young children like toys and that doesn't work. He is crate trained, allows you to take toys away and is pretty laid back most of the time. He does need a quiet environment to dwell in. His past home environment was too chaotic and not a good fit for him. He will require a large fenced-in yard, no exception since he will take off and run and does not know how to come when called. Not his fault he just never received any training. Apollo does have allergies and the occasional flare ups like many pure breed Labradors does happen to his ears and skin, but he is not on any daily medications. He can't have any beef in his diet, no table scraps, no treats and a controlled diet helps to keep his allergies in check. Apollo would be great with a single individual that is used to big dogs and can handle them or a couple who are empty nesters or can devote time to him with no children. He does well with older kids or teens and because of his size at times lack of manners. He would also prefer a home with no other pets since he does guard towards other dogs around toys or bones which could potentially cause an issue. He also likes to soak up all the attention and deserves it. He's never been around cats and wouldn't do well around them. He is just a big boy that wants to LOVE his humans that will LOVE him back! Apollo is fully medically vetted plus microchipped. To adopt please go to our website to complete our online pre-adoption application https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application
