About Macho

Adoption Fee: $200
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Macho, macho man! I've got to be a macho man! You may start singing this chart-topping song of 1978 when you meet our plucky little Macho. Abandoned in a crate by a roadside, 10-year-old Macho was dangerously thin (5 lbs.) and suffering from a leg wound. After some weeks of TLC with New Rattitude, this brave rattie mix weighs 7 lbs. (a few ounces shy of his ideal weight), and he's ready for his furever home! Macho's favorite activities are getting belly rubs and snuggling with his humans--a fortunate thing because you'll always want to be touching his soft, thick fur. An easy household companion, Macho dances gaily with his little tail wagging when you arrive home. When you're doing chores, Macho cheerfully bounces along nearby. At night, Macho likes to sleep in bed with his humans, but if you prefer, he would probably accept a dog bed in your bedroom. Despite being abandoned in a crate, he willingly goes into his crate at mealtimes or whenever he wants some time alone. You can feel comfortable leaving him home alone, crated or not. Macho's charming face and personality don't reveal all there is to know about him! Macho had severe periodontal disease and many missing teeth, so he also got dental surgery during which 13 additional teeth were removed! Left with one last good tooth, he'll require soft food for the rest of his life. Macho takes several short daily walks. He's calm on the leash and not reactive to other dogs, cars, or people. He's also well-mannered at home; you'll find no door dashing or hole digging from Macho! Good with most dogs, Macho may attempt to boss some males, so he should meet any potential canine brothers in a neutral location to ensure compatibility before adoption. He gets along with most humans, young or old, but he does bark at tall men, so he should also meet any men from the household first to ensure that he'll accept them. While he loves attention from kids, he likes his personal space and may try to nip to protect himself. To ensure Macho a safe, secure home for the rest of his life, potential adoptive homes with children will require careful evaluation. If yours is a kind household that would never injure or abandon a little guy, then boogie over to https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/macho to see more pics of mighty, mini Macho. Disco ball and bell bottoms are optional. ---------------------------------------------------- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MACHO, please go to New Rattitude's website at https://newrattitude.org/adopt/, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
