About Lightning

We got Lightning at 6 mo. old for our grandson from the Humane Society in Wenatchee, but she came from a rescue operation in Texas. We tried to get her training but could not, due to her anxiety and aggression. We did not want to spend $1000 for individual training. She is loving to our family and our children's families who lived with us then. However, she constantly barks ferociously at any strangers (to her) in our house or vicinity. She is hard to control on walks whenever we encounter other people or animals. She has bitten 1 adult and 1 child in our yard when she got loose, and my brother-in-law in our house when the downstairs gate was left open. Fortunately, though serious, the bites were not severe. She would make a great watch dog! She does like to chew, and will chew most anything to which she has access. She is very fast so is appropriately named. We would like to have company without worrying about her, and don't have a warm place for her in winter other than our house. She is fine around strangers (and even cats!) when she is with our daughter, but our daughter rents and cannot have dogs over 40 pounds. Lightning is currently about 55 pounds.
