About Ellie

Ellie is 4 years old, about 25lbs, and is a Chihuahua beagle dachshund mix according to Embark testing. Adopted from Rowan County in 2019. Ellie is the best dog in the whole world. Unfortunately, due to most likely the beagle in her, she has a high prey drive and I have cats. She has not hurt one, but she chases and stresses them out. I've had to keep her separate from the rest of the house and she's miserable. Ellie just wants to be loved. She loves walks, running, and snuggles, and loves to be around people. She goes to doggy daycare sometimes, but may do best as an only pet. She had a luxating patella but I did have it repaired 2 years ago and it healed. She had small focal seizures 2 years ago but is on medication and it has stopped (zonisamide) and anxiety medication but may be able to be weaned off if she is in a less stressful situation. She has separation anxiety, so someone who is home often may be best. She has been doing really well on her medication though. She is okay with older kids who don't scream and chase her.
