Please note that we will ask for a vet reference. Name: Fawn and Fancy (bonded pair) Age: 12 years Breed: Shih Tzu, small, Fawn: 14#, Fancy: 10# Sex: Spayed females Location: Baldwin County, Alabama Vet Information: Fawn is spayed and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm testing, which was negative. Fawn has one eye that appears to be dehydrating. Her owner gives her over the counter Refresh natural eye drops daily. Fawn's other eye has a cataract. Her owner tells us that Fawn does really well though. She sees but not well, and Fawn may, sometime in the future, need enucleations. Fawn was recently treated at the vet for some issues with arthritis in her lower back/back end. She was given medication for pain. Fancy is spayed but not up to date with vaccinations. Her owner will be updating her vaccinations soon. Fancy had both eyes removed in August of 2022, and she is doing well. Otherwise she has no health issues. Both girls are microchipped. Owner Report: Fawn and Fancy's owner adopted them in the spring of 2022. While she says they are good dogs, really sweet and loving, and she loves having them, she doesn't have the time and energy to care for them. She is looking for a special person to adopt them together. Neither dog is leash trained. They are not fully housebroken, but their owner is working with them on that, and they are learning. They go out at regular times during the day. Fawn will use pee pads, and Fancy is in a diaper at night. Fawn and Fancy are indoor dogs with the run of the house. Fawn knows cues for No and Out. Fancy knows cues for Come here, No, Stop, Outside, and Let's eat. They're outgoing girls who can be shy at times. They're good with men, women, and teenagers. Their owner feels that they adapt well to new situations and surroundings despite their blindness/lack of vision. Neither girl is aggressive to people or other animals, but each will sometimes grumble to say that what they have, whether a toy, a treat, or food, is hers. Does anyone have room for sweet Fawn and Fancy? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
