Baxter is a 5-year-old Boxer-Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is an incredibly loving, snuggly dog, who at 55 pounds thinks he is a lap-dog! We adopted Baxter when he was just a puppy and have had him for these first 5 years of his life. So, it is with tears that we are now faced with the difficult decision to rehome him. Our house has four dogs - in addition to Baxter, we have an 11-year-old, a 9-year-old, and a 3-year-old. Baxter has always been the sweetest dog to all of the other dogs in our home. He sleeps with the other dogs, plays with them, goes on walks with them, and lets our littlest dog sleep right on top of him. All without causing him any upset. That is why we could not believe that he suddenly will not get along with our 11-year-old beagle. Our vet said that this sudden turn in behavior can happen sometimes out of seemingly nowhere. Baxter is super loving to the other dogs and still sleeps with our little dog and shares his crate with her as well. Baxter has the classic Boxer 'wiggle-butt'. Whenever he sees us, he cannot keep that back end from swinging. He loves to run around in our fenced-in-yard and he enjoys taking walks. He will chase a toy, but loses interest rather quickly. He does love a good chew bone. He sleeps in our bed (until recently) and loves to snuggle on the sofa. Baxter is incredibly bright and would do well with some cognitive stimulation - whether with games or walks where he can sniff the world. We love Baxter and want to place him with someone who will love him as much as we do.
