About Gwen

Gwen is a loving 6-month-old pure German Shepherd seeking a furever home, particularly with someone who is familiar with the breed and willing to be a foster-to-adopt home for her at this time. She currently weighs 35 lb and has some growing to go. Gwen had an infection at a young age that led to the loss of some of her muzzle. Gwen has had two surgeries but requires another and possibly more. She is set for her next surgery on 3/14/23 and will be monitored for a week or more at a medical foster home afterwards. Any following surgeries required, if needed, will follow this same protocol. Gwen is an active, outgoing and well-behaved puppy with special needs, but she does not let her disabilities take over her life. She loves going out to visit the horses in her current foster home, go on hikes, and go for rides in the car. She greets everyone with a wagging tail and, despite her facial deformity, walks with her head held high and a bright smile on her face. Like a typical puppy, she will require continued training during fostering and after her adoption. Gwen currently lives with three other dogs, two cats, a rabbit, horses, parakeets and some chickens. She is respectful of the cats. Gwen continues to love her life and anyone that comes into it, and she wishes to find someone to share her love of life with. She is fully housetrained, up to date on all vaccines and will be spayed in the future before adoption.
