Cassie's owner was homeless and realized that he had to give her up for her sake. She was frightened in the shelter initially, but warmed up to the staff fairly quickly. When our volunteer went to meet her, all Cassie wanted to do was sit next to her and be petted. Cassie has displayed the aloof Akita temperament intially, but does warm up.
