About Granger

Handsome Granger was an owner surrender and he is looking for a special home. He came in with two female Rotties that have already been adopted, and he lived with a small dog in the home. We have not seen how he does with other large/ male dogs so a meet-and-greet would be required for any other dogs living in the home. At this time we are recommending he not go to a home with small children as he has been quick to negatively react when he is startled or scared. Granger is an extra large boy and is currently 150+lbs and when excited can forget how large he is! Granger has a high prey drive, so no cats in the home with this big guy. Our experienced volunteers and specific staff members have been working one on one with him to help him get comfortable with having a leash put on/off and to be more comfortable meeting new people. He loves treats and he will take them from your hand very gently. Granger knows sit, knows how to give his 'paw' for both front feet, knows down, and knows up. He loves to run and play in our big play yard and he does well on a leash. Granger can be fear reactive when meeting new people and several meet and greets may be required until he is comfortable with potential adopters. We ask that he only goes in a home with experienced Rottweiler owners that know the breed and temperament due to some of the behaviors we have seen from him in the kennel. Continued training will be a must with Granger once in the home so he can build his confidence up and not think of new people and new situations as scary! Only serious and approved adopters may schedule to meet with him. This gentle giant is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply to adopt if you fit the criteria!
