About Lily & Hercules

Hercules is an American Bull Terrier mix, approx. 5-6 years old. He was surrendered to the Bangor Humane Society and then adopted to a family in the Portland area. He is neutered & house trained. He loves people and is always happy. Lily is an American Pitbull Terrier, approx. 6-7 years old. She was surrendered to the Brooklyn, NY kill shelter and adopted by a local Mainer. She is spayed & house trained. She can be skittish of men but has a very good demeanor and loves people. They have both lived with other dogs (big and small) but take a little time to adjust to new dogs. Together they can be intimidating if the other dog(s) aren't as high energy as them. If another dog shows aggression, they do not back down. So they have to be introduced to other dogs carefully. They're basically couch potatoes and love to cuddle though! They also love to run and play fetch, go for walks, swimming and for car rides. They do pull when on walks, and are very strong. They should not be unleashed. They've never been around cats or other animals that we know of. They prefer older kids but again can be very high energy at first and may jump up on someone when first greeting them. They have been together for the last 6 years and MUST stay together.
