About Winston

Winston is in desperate need of a foster or adopter. He was rescued from a southern shelter and transported to our shelter in October 2022. He was adopted and in a home for 2 weeks but Winston's energy level wasn't the right fit for their lifestyle. They brought him back in Winston's best interest, however, Winston has not been the same since. Winston is decompensating and he needs to be in a home setting ASAP. He used to love being here - he would stay outside for a long time playing with a dog friend or playing tug-of-war & fetch with our volunteers. He no longer has interest in staying outside and spends most of his days confined. His ideal home will be patient & understanding with him while he settles in and decompresses from shelter life. When Winston is his happy self, he loves attention from people, loves to wrestle & play chase with other dogs, loves to play fetch, and go for walks. When he first arrived, his energy level was on the medium side. At this time, due to stress, he comes off as a high energy dog. His ideal home will be on the active side but know that with time, you'll have yourself a social, sweet, adventure buddy.
