About Valencia

Adoption Fee: $200
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Hello, we are desperately looking for a home for Valencia. She is 15 months old born November 17th 2022. We have been looking for a home for Valencia for 6 months now and have yet to find a good fit. We have tried our best but we're at our limit unfortunately and when she's with our other dog she makes her very very anxious and stressed. We have put years of training into our other dog since she was abused/neglected as a puppy and afraid of everything and everyone and it has been a social set back. We don't want to bring Valencia to the nonkill shelter around us because we are fairly confident she will be marked as aggressive and put down. There is a huge scandal happening to one of the no kill shelters in our area because they put down a dog who played with his mouth 'since he was aggressive' Other people keep backing out because she is not good with children under the age of 10 years old. She is very playful and likes to play with her mouth as do most heelers. She is a good dog but she has a very typical heeler personality, she can be slow to warm up to strangers, she can be mouthy, high energy, she likes to try to herd other dogs when playing, she loves her people ect. If you have another heeler she would be amazing. She barked at us the day we picked her up but as soon as she got some treats she was okay. We have cats but she has NEVER been left alone with them before she is in her crate when we leave and we always have our eyes on our dogs when they're out. She can be a bit rough with the cats but she has never hurt them she likes to nuzzle into them. She is very food motivated. She knows lay down, sit, speak, paw, stay, and spin. She is potty trained but does better with a schedule. She is a great hiking dog and she loves the outdoors. All we want is for her to go to a home where she can flourish. She is simply living here and I know she can have a better life. She would love a home where she can run around and play with her people.
