About Gia

Gia is the best of her Dachshund and Lab mixes! She is smart and easily trained. We adopted Gia and her sister from a rescue when they were 18 weeks old. We thought they were Dachshund/Jack Russel mixes so, for one, they are bigger than expected. We also thought our 2, 8 yr old boys would be better with 2 dogs. Now that we've had them for over a year, we think both dogs would be better separated, and Gia would be the perfect dog to have as an only dog. She has had her fair share of energetic kids around her and has never been aggressive. I think she would be better with kids a little older than ours. Being the dominant dog of the 2 and having energetic kids around her, she has some anxiety. It comes out as barking but when I have used training tools, she does really well. I just haven't been consistent enough. She needs a home that can focus on just her training. We can't give both dogs the amount of attention they need. Our trainer also has a mix like Gia and said she will be the best dog you could ever have!
