About Tsar

Are you looking for a companion whose puppy antics will have you laughing throughout the day? Do you want a dog who loves being around other dogs and people? Tsar has a lot of love and puppy personality. He loves to be near his people and will follow you from room to room. He likes to be nearby whether you are cleaning in the kitchen, brushing your teeth or watching television. He will happily come snuggle on the couch or lay at your feet as you relax. If he disappears on you, he may have picked up 'contraband' (any small item that he should not have) and he will playfully try to get you to chase him down to take it from his mouth.. Tsar's bat ears are adorable. They are usually sticking straight up, unless you have been separated for a few moments. Upon your happy reunion, he will approach you with ears back, head low, and tail and butt wagging energetically. He is still a young pup who has tiny sharp puppy teeth and is working on learning that toys are ok to bite and that people are not toys. This pup should be supervised around young children. He has some experience around children five and older and is easily redirected from mouthy behavior if given a toy to chew on or play with. His current favorite toy is a stuffed hedgehog that squeaks in both high and low tones. He loves to retrieve toys that are thrown for him and he will proudly trot back to you, toy in mouth, ready for another round. We have no cat history on him. Tsar enjoys romping and playing in the snow. A fenced yard would be ideal so he can run and explore to get out his puppy energy. He does well on walks and is working on walking in a straight line while on a leash. Taking walks is relatively new for him and he wants to check out everything along the way. Other people and dogs (even if far away) will stop him in his tracks while he (usually) quietly observes from afar. Tsar has been known to select a souvenir stick during walks and will proudly bring it back to his home base, sometimes leaving it by the front door. He does well in a crate, but does not love it. He is still learning to feel secure when he is alone. Tsar is extremely smart and a quick learner. He already knows 'sit' and is working on 'lay down'. His version of 'lay down' is shoving his front paws and muzzle into your hand from a sitting position, moving his belly (but not necessarily his back legs) down to the floor. From his position he will often roll to his side and can then be encouraged to 'roll over.' The fact that he is treat-motivated will make training much easier.
