This little beauty came to us as a stray. She and her sister were inadvertently caught in a trap and because she was so scared in the shelter environment she was at risk for euthanasia. We can't imagine this wonderful dog losing her life through no fault of her own! Our best guess is that Kenzie is a German Shepherd/ Carolina Dog mix. She is 1-2 years young. Kenzie is still nervous around new people and in new environments initially, but quickly warms up and is an absolute gem. She loves to be with the people she trusts and plays with other dogs. She's even made friends with Tiki, our rescue kitty! Kenzie is working on her basic commands and leash walks. She's a smart cookie, so catching on quickly. Although she prefers a crate as her 'den', she's doing really well indoors with no accidents to date. Someone with a gentle hand, a bit of patience and confident leadership skills is going to be extremely lucky to nab this girl. Please note that she's not yet been introduced to small children but due to her shy nature we think she'll thrive in a home with adults that may have older children. Want more info on Kenzie?
