Juanita A2049606 Animals appearing on the STAR Alert are those that require more extensive treatments, beyond what LAAS can provide, but are considered to have a good prognosis to a return to health if they can receive the medical care. To take part in the STAR Program, any member of the group may foster the animal and transport him/her to a STAR Program Partner Veterinarian to receive the agreed-upon care. Depending on the treatment that is needed, LAAS will cover some (or all) of the costs. Once the treatment has been provided, the New Hope member may adopt the animal. If you would like to take an animal on the STAR list, please contact that Shelter's Life-Saving Liaison to begin the process. I am a white and tan spayed female. I am about 7 years old and weigh 58 pounds. I have been in the shelter since 09/01/2022 came in as a stray. I am available for New Hope or Adoption & I am a STAR candidate. MEDICAL ISSUES: 1) Severe chronic otitis externa w/ marked stenosis and soft tissue proliferation AD, milder AS - current infection resolved, but pt still has chronic severe changes to ear canals 2) Mild dental disease If adopted, notify adopter of pt's ear issues, suspected chronicity. Will need to work with vet to manage ear condition lifelong to maintain comfort and quality of life.
