About Mayamoosa

Maya was with the same human for most of her life and trained in the sport of French Ring, which is obedience and protection work. She is very intelligent understanding commands in both English and French, and excelling in her competitions. But when Maya was no longer able to compete on a winning level, her owner dumped her at a veterinary office to be euthanized. The veterinarian rightly refused euthanasia and Maya has been living at the vet facility ever since, waiting for her perfect forever family to find her. Even though Maya has been waiting a long time, she has never given up hope and remains the same sweet and affectionate pup as when she first arrived. She is a 9-year-old female Dutch Shepherd, who quickly became a staff favorite due to her gentle and loving disposition. Her beloved volunteer visits Maya almost daily, to walk and interact with this love muffin! Maya will eagerly walk miles by your side or quietly ride copilot on any road trip. She handles well on a leash, is fully house trained and can entertain herself endlessly with her beloved toys; but her favorite is to snuggle with her human while she falls asleep. Maya is good with strangers and calm children but prefers the company of male K9s. She has never been socialized with cats. Maya is spayed and up to date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. It would be best if she was adopted by someone with experience handling working Shepherds. Please contact with any questions or to schedule a meet and greet. Home checks are required.
