About Braillee

Braillee was rescued from Highlands County Animal Services. She was found lying next to a trash can. We are thinking someone just dumped her, because she is blind & deaf. She is approximately 7 months old and weighs 23 lbs. She was very skinny when she was found on 1-20-23 and has been steadily putting on weight. Braillee was lucky enough to be fostered by one of our employees. Her foster mom wishes she could keep her, but has to be realistic about having enough time for her. This puppy needs a lot of attention and is still VERY much in the chewing stage. Someone with blind/deaf experience would also be a plus. She wears a special harness with a halo to help her. She does well with other animals. We recommend older children, only because she can play rough. Early on, she had two seizures in one night. She hasn't had any since. Bloodwork was run and nothing was found. She was slightly anemic, because she was positive for hookworms. (Since been treated for). The vet recommended putting her on neurocare food by purina. That food is not cheap, so please consider that if you decide to apply. This is just like a special needs child. Her housetraining is a work in progress, but she is pretty good.
