About Gideon

He is a very sweet, yet shy with humans who is learning that humans can be kind and loving. He was born around July 24, 2022 in Texas. Hesitant at first, Gideon truly loves affection and needs a family/person that will let him know he is safe. We have watched him begin to blossom in our home with other dogs, respectful gradeschool-age kids, a cat, chickens, and horses. He hasn't made any attempt to chase the horses, cat or our free-range chickens, preferring to stay back or ignore them. He LOVES all other dogs and they seem to give him some confidence, so a home with another moderately active dog would be best. He's a bit of a chewer (likely some lab in the mix), but is easily re-directed to his chew toys. Kids in the home should be old enough to give him the time and space he needs to get to know them, as quick or loud movements are still scary for him in new environments. Gideon is crate trained and will happily lay down to wait. He is not quite house-broken, but uses a potty pad and is great about going outside when taken out frequently during the day. He sleeps through the night with no accidents, even when not in the crate. Gideon is waiting for that person or family who can spend lots of time hanging out on the couch or enjoying outdoor activities. He will make an amazing companion or family dog if he is just given the chance. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, 6 mos of heart worm prevention.
