About Apollo

This is Apollo a purebred German Shepherd. I am needing to rehome him because I am just not able to give him the life he deserves. I've had him since he was puppy and I've been trying my absolute hardest to take care of him the way he needs to be taken care of but I'm just not able to. We have went from being homeless and living in our van, staying in hotels, moving house to house, and now that we finally have gotten a place to live me and my husband are both working 12+ hours a day and just not able to spend the time necessary with him and I can tell it's starting to affect him. He is a very good dog just just needs somebody willing to take the time to work with him. He was attacked twice by another dog and since then he has become really unpredictable around other dogs. He's never tried to attack or even snapped at another dog but when he sees one the fur on the back of his neck stands up and he starts bark, so I'm not sure how we would react when actually up close to the dog. He has been around cats before, but like I said since being attacked his behavior has changed and he hasn't been around one since so I'm not sure how we would react around cats either. He does well with people just very protective especially on a leash. He does pull on the leash but I think with some retraining he would do better. I think a family with no other animals and a yard would be the best option for him just so he can get all that exercise and play he's been missing out on. This is the very last thing I wanted to do, but I know I need to do what's best for him.
