About Zan

Oh, what a little lovebug! Zan spent sometime in a foster home and totally enjoyed being with people. He bonds strongly with his people and was allowed to sit with them in the recliner and sleep in the bed with them. His dreams will come true! All he ever wanted was to love and be loved! And eat! He LOVES to eat! He has discovered that he likes people food too. So far, he has enjoyed carrots, cauliflower, melons, strawberries, apple sauce, and cheese! He is learning to not get too excited and to take them gently. He lets you know when he is hungry. He doesn't want to miss any meals! He came in pretty thin and wants to keep his current handsome figure. In the home he knows where the treats are kept and will signal you by looking in that direction when he feels like it is treat time. In the home he is lower energy and will sleep for hours on his little bed as long as he is near his humans. He has held his potty until he is allowed outside. He likes it when his people are outside with him. He loves to snuggle and give kisses. He is a good watch dog because he will bark when he hears unknown noises. He stops barking when you thank him for his service. His foster parents described him as 'loving, alert, and inquisitive'. He rides great in the car and enjoys outings. He has NOT been destructive at all in the home, but he will check out whatever is left in reach on the counters. Being confined in a crate is terrifying for him; luckily, he did not need one when he was in the foster home. The foster family did not have other pets but at the shelter he was in a few play sessions. The play group coordinator says he has a rowdy play style and matches well with other dogs.
