LOCATION: Spring, Texas DOB: 01/26/2020 (Estimate) To my future furrever home'|My name is Buddy! I want to tell you a little bit about my past because it will show you how far I've come in such a short time. I had a frightening experience before my lovely foster family found me and took me in. I was found eating out of a garbage can in a neighborhood in Texas-this place is a known dumping ground for dogs and trash. I very clearly had been neglected and was in poor condition, mainly skin and bones, and was just trying to survive. But all of that is behind me now!! With my foster family, I have learned so much about myself! For example, I looove and crave affection, snuggles, and reassurance. Something else I have learned is how to play and what toys are. So fun!! I love chasing after balls and I can even retrieve them. I also love to throw my toys in the air and jump around like a big goofball. I do love to hold a toy inside my mouth, even when I go outside to go potty. I can also be a big ol' lazy boy. I have never slept so comfortably now that I have a large dog bed. Most definitely beats the streets and sleeping in the woods. I love to snuggle with my foster family and even make grunty noises and purr like a cat when I am really happy. It's pretty cute. I am working on my good manners cuz I want to make sure I am a good house guest! I know how to Sit, wait for an 'OK' command with my meals, and wait to potty until I am outside. I also have come a long way on the leash! I can walk politely on the leash and I like to feel your hand on my back while walking. I LOVE people, big or small, male or female. I greet them with a big lean and snuggle. Yes, I do have that famous Dane leanI am living with a 2-year-old little human right now and we sure have had some fun together! I let him pet me and tickle my ears. For right now, I'm unsure of other dogs I see out in the community. I am doing much better at ignoring them though. I just need guidance and redirection. I love the small dogs and even politely play games like tug of war with them! They are much less intimidating. I have done well with slow and proper introductions to large dogs, but I am definitely more wary of the big ones. Admittedly, I do get nervous and upset when left alone in the house. I do best in the kennel right now when left alone. I can be mischievous when I am unsupervised and food is left out. Can you blame me??? I ate out of trash cans!!! I am getting better at understanding these boundaries though and I have never shown any food aggression and I try my hardest to politely lie down while my foster family eats. I am unsure about a cat sibling as I have not interacted with them yet. I have made such great strides and am loving this cushy life. My foster pawrents keep telling me what a good boy I am and how much potential I have. I am a big baby at heart! I hope you will consider me to be your future family member. I will be so grateful for you and bring you as much joy as I know you will provide me. Sincerely, Your Gentle Giant-Buddy. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
