About Kya

Sadly my husband and I have decided that we need to rehome our dog Kya or better known as 'Kya girl'. Kya will be five years old this May. We adopted her from a family here in Lincoln, NE and instantly fell in love with her spunky personality. Kya is trained to sit, wait, shake, lay down, and roll over (with some extra help). Kya has no known medical conditions and is house trained (not kennel trained). Her favorite things include playing tug of war with her brother Laramie (Australian shepherd), squeaky toys, chasing the laser at night, fishing/fetching sticks in any body of water, going on walks/running, cuddling on the couch, and eating treats. Unfortunately, Kya cannot be trusted with kids and unfamiliar dogs and would do best with all the attention on her. My husband and I are planning for a future with kids very soon, so our hope is that Kya can be in a home where she gets the love and attention she deserves. Kya is an anxious dog and has territorial behaviors including barking and growling out the window at newcomers and other people/dogs walking by. However, she can be re-directed with commands and treats. We know our Kya has the sweetest heart and just wants all the love and cuddles in the world.
