About Stryker

Stryker is 1/2 great Pyrenees and 1/2 Anatolian Shepherd. Neuter 1 month ago. Super friendly, not aggressive at all. Will be one year old on February 27. He has typical rambunctious behavior, has to be expected for a dog his age. I currently have two very small dogs as well, and sometimes his energy level can be borderline dangerous for them, not because he is mean at all, but just typical for his age and breed. This dog was purchased as a puppy for my mother. She has since moved up north, and was not able to take him with her. I am a travel, nurse, and, unfortunately, it has proven to be impossible to travel with him. It would not be fair to even expect that this would be a life he would enjoy. I currently have a backyard farm, and all of my chickens are in an electric fence type system. In the past six weeks, he has attacked four chickens that have gotten out of the fence, resulting in their death. Again, this is not aggression, I think it is mostly because of his age and immaturity, he treats the chickens like they are a play toy, and obviously can't stand his roof play. I am devastated. I love this boy, and I just want him to be happy. Unfortunately, I have to be able to provide for myself and my family I truly think that he would be a great livestock, guardian dog, and possibly, maybe even one day not be so high energy with smaller animals like chickens or little dogs.
