About Moira Rose

Meet Moira Rose!! A very sweet 8 year old retired dog breeder release (shih tzu/bichon mix). She is being fostered in Madison, and will come fully vaccinated once ready for adoption. Ever see cute puppies for sale at pet stores/craigslist/online? Do you know where they come from? I didn't know either until I got involved with rescue. Those cute puppies come from a momma like Moira��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%BD'��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%BD| Moira spent her entire life confined to an enclosed space, while being used for constant breeding to produce those cute puppies for sale. Moira did not have any human interaction, therefore she is very scared of humans, but I am slowly gaining her trust. Because of this, she is a flight risk and must go to a home with a fenced yard. Moira's paw pads were raw, and she had sores on the bottom pads, from living and standing in her own filth. Despite the lack of hygiene she experienced her entire life, Moira Rose is a true lady who likes to keep her space very clean, and is being a fantastic potty training student. She has had one incident inside, and only used the puppy training pads twice. Aside from that, she has gone outside every time. It is very apparent that she enjoys clean living because she will wait for me to take her out. I am amazed at the resilience Moira exhibits. She has already picked up a few toys but doesn't really know how to play or what to do with them. Moira will be ready for adoption in the upcoming weeks, and needs a committed and very patient home. She is scared at sudden movements, therefore might not be ideal for a household with kids. Moira would benefit from having another calm companion dog(s) who can show her what a dog's life should be like.
