About BARKER

Adoption Fee: $225
White Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Stanley 3 year old white shepherd BARKER was lucky to find an experienced foster home immediately after he was rescued from the shelter, so we have lots of information on his behaviors. We have learned that he bonds well and so sweetly with people that he will undoubtedly become the best friend that you never knew that you needed! BARKER (Brave, Affable, Reliable, Keen, Educated, Resilient) BARKER is an active and athletic dog that requires lots of exercise for his physical and mental well-being. He loves walking, hiking and fetch. BARKER also loves skiing and running with his foster family. He has been good on and off leash and has good recall. BARKER has a truly brilliant mind. He knows so many tricks and commands and is crate trained. He is so brave and can be encouraged to try new things or face things that seem spooky (I'm looking at you, slippery wood floors!). He loves making everyone proud and always tries his best. As a German Shepherd, he likes to make sure there is nothing suspicious going on. He often responds to unfamiliar noises with a short series of alarm barks that are easily calmed with the 'okay, leave it' command. BARKER is ok on car trips. He enjoys looking out the back window. On the way home from adventures, he is a sleepy boy and settles in nicely. We need to say that BARKER can be reactive to other dogs, but he has proven that he is more than capable of making dog friends. Not only has he become friends with his foster brother, he even brings his foster brother toys that he used to be defensive over. It has been so sweet to watch him get comfortable and confident. At this time, BARKER would benefit from more slow and careful socialization with other dogs. He learns quickly with consistency and positive reinforcement. Special Barker things: --Loves meat and cheese for treats --Carries his 'rabbit' toy around the house to show everyone --Regularly sits cross-pawed and looks handsome --Loves getting morning and bedtime pets --Does not get up on people furniture --Loves laying at your feet while you work at the computer MORE PHOTOS/VIDEOS: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Y6BssabzFwW7QAkf9 BARKER is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, so ready to go to his furever home. https://www.friendsfureveranimalrescue.com/adoption-application Complete an easy, online adoption application to meet BARKER in Stanley. For the right home, we can help with the meet and/or transport at a more convenient location. BACKGROUND: BARKER's previous owner asked the shelter to humanely euthanize him because his girlfriend did not like the pup. Friends Furever Animal Rescue knew that this was one life that they were going to save.
