About CHEWIE

Adoption Fee: $550
Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

ATT: Aussie Lovers and Experienced with this breed only!!!. Please READ Bio in it's entirely so you can understand his needs. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Meet CHEWIE: Chewie is a 1-year-old, ADORABLE Australian Shepherd. He is a lean 40-lbs. A typical high-energy loving Aussie but is generally very shy, he needs time to warm up. General Behavior: He likes to cuddle on your bed, or on your couch, wherever you are but he also likes to sploot on the floor beside you. He has been learning not to bark at strangers when they come to the door and during walks. Chewie needs a fenced back yard where he can run off his energy. Chewie is very energetic, but he also knows when its quite time in the house and settles down very well. Chewie gets along with other dogs but can get a little defensive at times and barks a lot! I think a good fit would be with someone who works from home and has the time to take him for walks and get the energy out. He is better with other dogs his age and agility level but overall I think he would be content being a single dog. Feeding: Chewie is currently on an Iams salmon. Likes & Dislikes: He loves walks, and he is trained on how to walk on a leash. He gets a little anxious in the car but does well overall. Chewie loves all sorts of toys. Training: Chewie is house-trained and can walk on a leash. He knows sit and stay. I think with a little more training he can pick up other tricks as well. Medical: Chewie is currently very healthy and is current on all of his shots. He currently takes Bravecto and Interceptor. Chewie was hit by a car in September 2022 and has since recovered but we would recommend low impact activities and not strenuous walks. Children: Chewie has been around children, but children who are familiar with being around dogs. He loves to give lots of licks so sometimes it can be a bit much for a child. Grooming: Chewie would require daily to weekly brushes as well as professional grooming. Overall: Chewie is a great dog that is up for walks and hanging out with his favorite person(s). He is perfect for someone that is active and is home often enough to give him a strong sense of security. Chewie has a little bit of separation anxiety but that eases up as he becomes comfortable. Chewie does not seem to do well in spaces that are full of loud noises and typically bonds with one person.
