About Maple

Maple is a happy, energetic 6 year old female, she has been with her current family for her whole life but the addition of children (a toddler and another one on the way) have changed the home circumstances for her. Recently her anxiety has increased and although she had never shown aggression to a human before she was recently provoked and bit a teenage boy. Her current owners feel that because of the unpredictable nature of toddlers and children she isn't trustworthy around kids anymore. Maple needs space to run and a family who can love her the way her current family does. She loves going for runs, knows basic commands (sit, stay, leave it) and is crate trained but doesn't love it. She does better out of the crate or when crated with her brother (who is a Great Dane, and is pretty passive) she has gotten much better with the crate but hasn't had to be in one by herself for extended periods of time. She isn't a hugely cuddly dog but but does like to curl up on a blanket next to her humans when she isn't laying like a cat on the back of the couch, or playing with her rope toys.
