About Mirage and Rogue

Meet Rogue and Mirage !! Do you have a big heart and want to welcome these two special needs bulldogs into your home?! Mirage is blind and Rogue helps her function like an almost normal dog �%9D%A4��%8F���%8D They need to stay together due to this. Mirage and Rogue are both 3 year female bulldogs and weigh 40 Pounds each. They are so small and compact you'd hardly believe they weight that until you pick them up!! They have both been spayed, microchipped and updated on vaccines. They are both thankfully Heartworm negative. Mirage is blind however she gets around very well. So much so we thought originally she had some vision but the vet said no. She will follow Rogue or find her by listening to her adorable bulldog snorting noises. She also does well tracking the sound of your voice. She rarely runs into things and has adapted to being blind very well. Rogue is so sweet to her and watches out for her. Rogue loves people and will follow you all around. Mirage will just hang out around the house most of the time. **UPDATE! After settling in more both dogs have become more playful and less fearful of other dogs. Even mirage being blind she still likes to play and roughhouse with the other dogs!! They are fostered with other dogs and get along with them fine but are a little afraid of them at times until they get used to them. They came to us with scars all over their legs and face so they may have been attacked in the past. They pretty much just ignore the other dogs until they feel safe. They have never met any cats so we don't know how they would do. Both are mostly potty trained. They still have accidents as they are adjusting to indoor life with their new foster family. They haven't figured out how to alert to go out but they are learning. They do well with crate training and are crated together in one kennel. They are great on car rides. They did wonderful at the vet and the vet staff adored them both. Very treat and food motivated making training easier. Rogue is great on a leash. Mirage has some trouble with it which is understandable given her lack of eyesight. She will sometimes follow behind Rogue on walks but is better in a situation where leash walking isn't a daily occurrence. They are both extremely loving and Rogue wants to be all over you sharing her love. Mirage is a bit more reserved but also very sweet. When they get hyped up and playing they can be pushy and nippy due to their excitement. They aren't mean at all they just act like bulldogs. They need to go to a home with respectful, very dog savvy kids over 16. They are pushy bulldogs. If you don't know what bulldogs are like they are incredibly strong and strong willed. They are be very physically pushy to get their way. Also with Mirage being blind we don't want young kids scaring or startling her. They are very sweet and loving but we need to set them up for the best chance of success. They share food well with each other. They are grumbly about sharing bones with each other or other dogs but so far it's just been lots of loud bulldog gremlin noises and no fighting. They have been fine sharing with people. Bulldogs are strong and hard headed. You've got to understand that to live with one. Stubborn is in their DNA and often times they do things they make you question if they have a brain at all ������%A4|��%8F%BC�'�%8D��'ە�%8F But they are also extremely loyal, sweet and loving. Bulldogs are just not for the faint of heart or for new dog owners. They really are sweet dogs but they have very different attitudes than other dogs. If you're experienced with bulldogs or other strong willed dogs and have a place in your heart to really make a difference for two dogs then these girls might be for you!!
