Courtesy is shy and sweet and everything right in the world. She can't take a bad picture even in her frightened state. Courtesy is more than her good looks and bunny ears though. She is afraid like she's seen all the world's bad things. Courtesy tried to leave the lot as soon as she had off leash freedom. Her tail was tucked high as she begged and pawed at the gate. It's heartbreaking to see this level of desperation. Courtesy curled into a smaller version of herself as we approached. The smell of fresh pupperoni saved the day. Her hungry won over her fear. As long as we were handing out treats, Courtesy stayed close. She is hesitant to come over for pets but did allow some light handling after a few nervous flinches. Courtesy sits on command and gives her paw but it's more of a defensive 'don't hurt me' move than a shake. We fall hard for the wounded but not broken ones and that is Courtesy to a T.
