About Tucker

Siberian Husky / Chow Chow
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

9 mo puppy 'Tucker' needs an adopter, foster and or rescue to save his life, as he is past his deadline and was scheduled to be euthanized at EOD 1/31, but is still alive! We were just alerted that the Lancaster shelter placed this gorgeous husky samoyed mix looking puppy named Tucker is on the euthanasia list and is now past his deadline of 1/31, and sadly could be euthanized today since shelter is out of room as new dogs are coming in. This puppy somehow fell through the cracks so we are hoping there is a an adopter or foster we can refer to a rescue to save him in time. What we know is that this 8 month old puppy- with a purple tongue (so maybe a little chow in there)- was surrendered in early December due to the landlord not allowing, so he is now about 9 months old. He is an active puppy and we have video showing how friendly he is on this link: https://www.facebook.com/546916973/videos/pcb.743834693749865/871905857466876 . His picture does not even do him justice, he is a total stunner. Additional pictures are available as well here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/230530435080296/permalink/743834693749865 . Please contact the shelter directly and asap if you can adopt at (661) 974-8358 and ask for ID A5521362 , or if you can foster, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network so we can try to pair you with a willing rescue to save this boy before it is too late. Rescues need fosters to save him and others. Shelter behavior notes: 'He greeted the runner at the kennel gate as they approached. He had soft eyes, relaxed body and neutral tail. It took a little time for the runner to loop leash him, due to him moving around a lot in excitement. He exited the kennel willingly and walked to the play yard with a moderate pull. He entered the catch pen with soft eyes, relaxed body and neutral tail. He exchanged the soft greetings with the other dogs through the play yard fence. He was easily collared by the runner. He entered the play yard with soft eyes and relaxed body. He initially bypassed the other dogs and began to roam the yard, exploring his surroundings. A high energy female Malinois then began to run past him. He appeared to become aroused by this and began to chase her across the yard. As he caught up to her, he began to bite at her back and the back of her neck. The female Malinois continued to try and create space from him. He continued to pursue her and bite at her. The handlers were able to break his focus using a shaker again. After this, he then began to roam the yard to himself. He began to approach the handlers seeking affection, but also displayed puppy like mouthy behavior. He then approached a male Cane Corso. He became tense and began to body press the male Cane Corso, in a challenging manner. He then put his paws on the male Cane Corso's back and began to bite toward his neck. His focus was broken by the handlers and he was steered away using a shaker can. He was then exited from the yard at this time. Tucker is selective with the other dogs and has no play style at this time. MIDDLE SCHOOL AGED (REQ), NO OTHER DOGS (REQ).' He is recommended and required as an only dog at this time.
