Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit. We really wanted to give this poor little stray from ACCT a fresh start! Midnight joined SDHH on New Year's Eve, desperately needing our help. Painfully thin and horribly matted, we were already playing catch up from what appeared to be long term neglect. Unbelievably, through all his vetting, new surroundings, and surgeries, he seemed to understand we were here to help. Such a huge change can sometimes make dogs fearful, more shutdown, and require longer decompression. Midnight thrived! Routine, a healthy diet, medical care, a few canine buddies, and a kind, understanding touch was exactly what he needed. He is now ready to find his forever home! Midnight is estimated to be approx 8-9 yrs young -and 14lbs. Mostly housebroken- he still does use a belly band for extended periods of away time. He is well socialized with other pups! (Cats unknown) He is neutered with all vaccines UTD. Heartworm negative Recently had a dental-(7 teeth removed) He is slightly vision impaired but navigates a room with ease. His ideal home is a somewhat active family/ caregiver that enjoys walks and gives him romps in the yard. He is a quiet, confident fellow that is looking for a long term companion, who is willing to offer this adorable little poodle mix a soft place to land!
