About Malykai

I am sad to say that we are looking to rehome Malykai, our Bengal cat. He will be 11 years old in February and he is an F4 Bengal. He came to us via a rehoming situation in 2016 when he was ~4 years old. He is a very lovable guy, loves chin rubs, being patted on his backside, curling up under a blanket with you or on your lap. He has great energy and occasionally gets the cat zoomies. He has more energy than your typical house cat. He is very vocal with loud meows at times, loud purrs and he also chirps when he gets super excited while watching birds through the window. He still does love a good nap/napping spot though; he loves sleeping on pillows/backs of couches. Due to territorial fights between him and Mini (our other cat) we feel we can no longer keep him as we have tried to mitigate the territory issues over the past several years. He has some litter misuse/marking issues on top of instigating fights with Mini. We believe this is mainly caused by the fact that Malykai is an alpha, Scotch our dog wants to be alpha and Mini was our first cat in the house. That being said, we believe he needs to be the only pet in the home so the whole house can be his territory. He also may do better in a home with no kids or only older kids (~12 years or older). He is afraid of little kids (especially toddlers). We want to be upfront with anyone interested in taking him in about his litter misuse/marking as we believe the previous owners omitted this to us when we took him in. We were told their large dogs did not get along with him. This is why we want to ensure that Malykai goes to a good home where he is the only pet.
