About Leon

Leon is 1.6 years old and fairly active. He loves to run outside and chase squirrels. He likes to bark, but doesn't bark at the door. He is highly intelligent and highly trainable. He has had basic training, his biggest training flaw right now is that he jumps a bit, but he knows a wide range of commands, such as 'Drop it', 'Get your ball' and 'Bring it' he is very smart. He is potty trained, and doesn't mind wearing clothes when its cold out. The reason we are re-homing him is because he has been having issues with biting. In particular, he his highly possessive of his things when it comes to other dogs, and will fight to protect it, and has pierced several ears. He has not shown any food aggression or possessiveness to humans however, but because of this nature it makes us uneasy about him being around kids. We have kids on either side of our house, and our future will likely involve them too. We are looking for a home with no other roaming pets, a fenced in yard, and no kids, either now or in the future. We would also recommend that behavioral training be given to the dog by a professional trainer for his behavior issues, as he is still young and could potentially be trained out of some of his aggressive issues. The severity of the bites is not the worst, but he has drawn blood several times on his human owner. He is recommended for experienced dog owners, or even better experienced boarder collie owners. We are willing to give his toys, his bed, his leftover food, vet records, dishes, clothes, and other necessities. He is crate trained as well, and if necessary we can supply that as well.
