About Eleven

Eleven is a cuddle-bug. She's a 25 lb, 7-year old sweetheart. She adores pets, hugs, and attention from her owners, and will put her paw on your leg letting you know she wants to sit in your lap. Her favorite thing to do is to sit on the couch with her owners in a big dog-pile, curl up, and go to sleep. She's smart, and loves puzzle toys - as long as they have food in them! She also is solar powered - she'll follow the sunbeams through the window and nap in every one. If you let her outside on a sunny day, she'll flop down and will stay there until dark. She loves her walks and is an excellent running buddy. She's timid around strangers and visitors, both in and outside the home, and while she doesn't bark often, she will bark at door knocking. She's very cautious with people outside of her family inside the home, and will bark if startled. In 6 years, she has nipped visitors only twice, both minor, and when she was startled. She also has lived with another dog for 6 years and has had two bite incidents with this dog. While these events have been minor and the two have a good relationship, they should be seen as a bite history and care should be taken with visitors and other dogs in the home. El (our nickname for her) is treated with a low dose anti-anxiety medication, and has an occasional upset stomach that she takes Prilosec for. We adopted Eleven as a rescue when she was 1-year old. We love her so much, but are starting a new family and can't give Eleven the attention she deserves with our new baby. Eleven has not been around small children, but given her anxiety and history described above, we think she would do better in a home without them. El has been spayed, has all her vaccinations, is house broken, and knows Sit, Stay, Leave-it, Come, and Bed and now just needs a new loving home - hopefully yours!
