About NUTMEG

**LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY** Meet NUTMEG STATS: Pom mix puppy born 11/18/22. LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Local adoption only! HIGHLIGHTS: Sweet, fun, and playful puppy! NUTMEG is the cutest Pomeranian mix puppy that was surrendered to us (with a few other litter mates who have been adopted). They were born on November 18th making her little over 8 weeks. She is now looking for her forever family! We know Mom was a black Pomeranian and we were told Dad was a Chihuahua. Nutmeg weighs 5.4 pounds. Based on her weight, she should be in the 15-20 pound range fully grown. Nutmeg is a very sweet and playful puppy! She enjoys cuddling and napping on the couch with her person. She will give kisses but she's more interested in chewing on soft squeaky toys and playing with a rope toy and balls. One of her favorite games involves pouncing towards you or a toy, then barking and either backing up or running. She is mischievous and enjoys getting under a chest in her foster home and poking her head out of a scalloped opening. When her foster family reaches for her she pops back under the chest! She is always interested in her surroundings, but is slightly cautious. She may startle if there's a loud noise or sudden movement by a person, but then she comes closer to investigate. Recently she has tried to climb the sides of the puppy pad. There's a whole big world out there that she is still discovering! She is great on car rides and is doing really well with her potty pad training. When she's tired she will curl up in a doggy bed or sometimes walk into the puppy pen and put herself to sleep. As soon as she's awake she barks and lets you know she wants out and is ready for more food and playtime! She is a precious little girl who will make some family very happy. To keep her safe from parvo, she cannot go outside until she has had all three sets of her puppy shots so she is working on inside potty training right now. She is learning to use puppy pads, although it's a bit hit or miss. She is still a young pup, and will learn with repetition and positive reinforcement. Nutmeg has a puppy pen to keep her safe when she cannot be supervised and for sleeping at night. (We always recommend a puppy pen if you have a puppy in your home!) She has been to the vet for a wellness check, has had two sets of puppy shots, is fecal tested and wormed, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her third set of shots is covered by the rescue and her spay will be scheduled at one of our vets when she is old enough, and those procedures are also covered by the rescue. Because she has pending vet appointments she is local adoption only, which is within a one hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
