About Kimber

With a heavy heart my wife and I had to decide las night that we need to find a new home for our rescue pitbull, Kimber. Kimber is a huge sweetheart. She's an 8 year old Pittie, fully vaccinated, medicated with heartworm and flea and tick (We'll give you what we have left for her!), and fixed. She loves cuddles, pets, being talked to. She's always right there by your side, she'll be your little shadow. We adopted Kimber about two years ago from an old friend of my wife's, being told she was good with dogs, she's friendly, ect... Come to find out, she definitely was being abused and neglected in her old home (She *still* flinches if you move weird around her, and she was very skiddish when we first brought her home, easily spooked and constantly acting like she'd be hit if you said her name), and... She really isn't that dog friendly. We've bee trying so hard to make things work. She and our other girl got along okay at first. But, they've started fighting now, and it's getting worse. My wife got hurt last night trying to break them up. They're both not happy anymore, sharing a home... We don't want to place her in a shelter... The chances of her being put down because she's so skittish, needs a no-animal home, and is a pitbull are so high, my heart can't handle the thought of this sweet girl being put down because of that. If anyone knows *rescues* or *no-kill* shelters we can look at? I'd happily take suggestions. But I'd much rather see her go right to another home where she'll get the love she deserves. She needs a home where she'll be the only pet, no other dogs, no cats (She did live with a cat before us and they said she was fine with the cat but... I don't trust what they say anymore sadly). Kids are fine - she is super sweet and patient with our 3 year old, no issues at all there. She just... Can't be with other pets. If anyone is interested, please reach out to me. Everyone in the house is so stressed now with the constant back-and-forth between our girls, we want to find her somewhere she can be truly happy. Even if she'll be missed like crazy.
