!!!!TRICOUNTY AREA ADOPTIONS ONLY!!! PLEASE READ ENTIRELY. MUST HAVE ANOTHER PLAYFUL DOG IN THE HOME. Meet Mocha, she is a brown 12-13 week old Labrador/Rottweiler Mix. 20LBS. Est. Full grown weight 60-80lbs REQUIREMENTS: FENCED YARD, LARGE BREED EXPERIENCE, NO RENTERS General behavior: Mocha is very sweet, playful and full of energy. She's not much of a cuddler unless she's really tired from playing. She is very attached to people and does not like to be left alone. However she doesn't mind being in her crate when no one is home. She is finding her voice and will bark when someone comes inside and to say hello on walks. Likes & dislikes: Mocha loves to eat! She loves to be outside, run, go on walks, play with other dogs and her toys. Mocha does not like taking baths or getting in the car but she accepts it. Training: Mocha thrives on a routine. In terms of potty-training, we have pee pads over the house (which she has gotten a lot better at using) but we try taking her out every 2-3 hours so she can do her business on the grass (which she usually does right away). She still has accidents inside the house but, overall, is getting better at potty training. Pro tip: Take her out right after she wakes up from a nap because she will always pee right away. In the mornings, Mocha usually wakes up at or around 6 am after sleeping through the night. I take her out to pee immediately after she wakes up, then I feed her breakfast and take her out for a short walk. Around 5/6 pm which is approaching her dinner time, Mocha gets really excited and wants to play and be outside. I usually take her out again at 9 pm and then right before I go to bed, which is usually around 11 pm. At bedtime, Mocha sleeps in her bed in my room because she does not like to be locked alone when people are in the house. She's getting better at walking on a leash when she's alone but she walks much better on the leash when she's following my dog on a walk. Mocha knows the words 'no, stay, good girl, bad girl' and is learning how to sit. Medical: Mocha will only need her monthly preventative heartworm and flea prevention medicine - like any other dog. Other animals: Mocha is super dog friendly! She always wants to say hello and play with other dogs that she sees on her walks. She would do best in a home with another dog to play with. Children: Mocha has never been around children, but given how friendly she is with all other people and animals she comes across, children should not be a problem. She would probably love to play with them! Home: Mocha will thrive in a home with a fenced in secure yard. Mocha will grow to be a big dog and needs ample space to run and play. At her young age, she must always be supervised when outside, even within a fenced yard, because she will try to eat things (grass, mulch, etc.) Everyone in the home must be trained on not letting her out the front door as she likes to run out. Grooming: Mochas fur is very short She only needs her regular baths, ear cleaning and nail trims. Overall: Mocca is a very sweet girl that will definitely bring fun into your life and deserves a committed adopter that will give her a loving home! Puppies are tons of fun but do require ALOT of work and training on your family's part to be the best pup they can be! They need love, attention and lots of consistency especially for housebreaking! Their little bladders can't hold it all day so please make sure you can commit to the puppy not being left along longer than 4 hours during the day. If that's not possible, please consider one of our adult dogs which might be better suited for your lifestyle!
