About Max

Max is just over a year old and is a fun-loving and goofy, high-octane boy looking for a family that likes to stay active. Any children in his family should be 5 years or older; he LOVES people but would appreciate the kids in his home to respect his space when he is sleeping so they do not accidentally startle him. Max is 73 pounds of exuberance, so he should always be supervised around tiny tykes because he could accidentally knock them over. The name Max means 'the greatest'; he is well named because he will be the most fabulous dog you will ever meet. He could share his home with a dog buddy because he loves to play with other pooches and is very tolerant. Max is a good communicator and knows proper play bow behavior. He is so good with other dogs that he has a fun job during his stay at the shelter; Max helps with the dog assessments for some of the canines also looking for a home. He will need to take a cat-test if you have a feline. Max would do well to have a job or two or three because a tired dog is a good dog. He already knows the cues for 'sit' and 'down' and accepts rewards gently if you remind him to be 'easy'. Max would enjoy taking classes with you to increase his repertoire. Perhaps he could get involved in agility or other canine sports, rally, nose work or dog parkour. He enjoys getting outside and taking long hikes; maybe he could carry a backpack to increase his workout. When he is alone it would be best if he stayed in a sturdy crate; his own little cozy den so he does not have to manage the whole house himself. Max would love to learn such great manners that he is a welcome community member wherever he goes. He would love to accompany you on many adventures; be your constant companion and will be devoted forever. Max has so much love to give and is excellent with all types of handling.
