About Luna

Adoption Fee: $50
Siberian Husky
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Luna is a 7 year old AKC certified Siberian husky. She loves hiking, running with you while you roller-skate, long car rides, and new adventures. She's the perfect travel companion and would make an amazing truck riding dog if she had the opportunity. She's potty trained and can hold it all day while you're at work or on a long car ride, she minds her own business when home alone and spends most of the time napping on the couch or in her kennel. She's not known to chew up things she's not supposed to and she's not a barker. She is a typical husky so she can be stubborn, but she is very intelligent and knows how to sit, stay, come, lay down, off, and shake with each individual paw. She currently lives with her parents, three cats, a German Shepherd and two teenage children. Unfortunately she has begun to have issues with her GSD brother and did bite him on the ear resulting in a tear about a month ago. She has never broken skin on a human or an animal before, but she does have a history of being resource aggressive, specifically with her kennel. She never bites her dad, and her mom has spent time working on training this out of her as she was just with her dad and kids prior to her mom coming in to the picture. She has done very well for the past couple of years, but some life changes seem to be triggering her in the resource guarding department causing her to take it out on her brother. Her mom is currently pregnant, and her dad is having long term medical issues that make it difficult to keep up with the exercise she is used to and the training she needs to prepare for a life with an infant. She has lots of dog friends that she has play dates with and loves, and she loves taking trips to the hardware store and meeting new people so she's not anti-social but she is unhappy at home. We love her very much and it is devastating to see her go, but we feel there may be someone better suited to give her the life she deserves. Preferably someone without other dogs and without young children.
